Northern Lights Technology has developed many solutions for a large number of clients. I've created website designs from scratch, redesigned
existing sites, reprogrammed existing sites, developed customer relationship management software, mass email tools, content management systems,
blogs, portfolios, flash, video, forms, download areas, client login areas, and many other custom software solutions. Below is but a small sample
of my work.

Global Training Edge Inc. contracted me to design a website for their 7
Safety Habits program. The website needed to appeal to their target market,
showcase their services, and be relatively simple. It was a routine project
over all, and the client was very satisified with my work.
Working in partnership with Design by Graduates, I was hired to code the
site's design and to program a custom built PHP Content Management System
for this site. The client was quite happy with the end product.
For Backcountry 4x4, I was hired to design a new website, setup a forum,
and transfer all users, posts, and other data from the existing forums.
The existing forums were hosted on a free proboard account which used
proprietary/closed databases.
I had to write a PHP script which would parse the forum HTML into approriate
SQL to then be tranferred to the new databases. It was a difficult and time
consuming job, and the client greatly appreciated my effort.
I was contracted by Design By Graduates to code a Wordpress theme to match
the accompanying site.
Working with Design by Graduates again, I was hired to program a custom
client area for Exquisite Suites. The client area was to show off the suites,
company info, and client credit.
I was contracted by Design By Graduates to code a Wordpress theme to match
the accompanying site.
I worked for Global Training Edge Inc. as an independent contractor for
over 2 years, and one of my responsibilities was ongoing website maintenance
and updates. One of the updates was a new design for their main site. This
was one of the first things I did for them, and was fairly routine work. I
coded the template, added a blog, and coded a CMS for them.
Around the same time, I also coded a mass email tool for marketing purposes
and a lightweight CRM (Customer Relations Management) system.
Over 2 years after Global Training Edge first hired me, they decided to
merge their sites into one, and they also wanted the backend overhauled.
I took just under 2 weeks to design and code the new theme, transfer all
the content to it, develop a new CMS that was very easy to use and set
them up with SugarCRM for customer management. The client was extrememly
satisfied with the results.
Design by Graduates hired me to develop a Wordpress based site for a
record company, Hype Records. This was a very challenging job since
it called for a custom system, or even alternative software, but the
client had insisted on Wordpress.
It required extensive modifications to Wordpress to support posting
various Artists, Music items, videos, and products, all managed by
Wordpress.

I was hired initially to provide just a coded website template. Over
time, I was hired several times to make modifications and fix errors
created by the companies own IT Team.
Then I was hired to code a SEO friendly car listing, with an easy to
use administration interface.
For this website, I worked with a Web Design firm in Ontario called
Design By Graduates. They provided the design and client details and
I worked on the code. I worked with Design By Graduates on numerous
occasions and enjoyed collaborating with them.
This project involved coding the site in XHTML and CSS, testing in
all major browsers as per usual, and integrating the site with their
existing CMS. The hardest part of this job was the portfolio, where
I developed a Javascript based frontend with an easy to use PHP
backend for adding product images and descriptions. The project
required several small modifications to satisfy the client, and they
were very happy with the end product.

I was contracted by Design By Graduates to slice and code a website, wordpress
theme, and develop a backend login system for clients for Little Dog Productions.
Working with our good friends in Toronto (Design By Graduates), I coded the
design they provided and made several modifications as requested by the
client.
Working with a data mining engineer, I developed a frontend for Global
Training Edge Inc. to showcase their extensive collection of safety
related court cases. The site had an easy to use update system for
importing Microsoft Access data, a powerful but simple to use search
system. The site also included a subscription based payment model using
PayPal and custom software.
I was hired by a client to design and code a website and install a forum.
I also developed several account monitoring tools for the forums (Running
Invision Power Board)
Working with Design by Graduates, I coded the main design and developed
a custom CMS for the site. CMS had to support the multi level page
structure the client had asked for.
For StressXpress, I developed a Kijiji like marketplace for their small
niche community. The system had 3 main categories, Buy & Sell, Barter,
and Free, with the user selecting a Country and then a City to browse
from. I integrated my new system into their existing login system and
designed a new and easy to use administration interface.
The marketplace has the option to browse items, post items (with pictures,
description, price range, address, etc), report items (which are in
violation of the TOS), or search items. Verification and deletion was
handled by logging in or using the email that was sent to you when you
posted an item.
To reduce spam, additional changes were made to the existing login system
to make it more secure. A phpBB forum system was also installed, a theme
developed, and the login integrated with the main site.
For VB Aero, I was hired to develop a website, a CMS, and a client area
where the admin could post interactive forms, PDFs, files, images, and
plane information on a user-by-user basis. This system had to be very
secure because of the data on the site, and so I also hosted it on my
Dedicated Server.
VB Aero contracted us to make numerous additions afterward, and is very
pleased with the quality of work done.
